Farmer Day's Kitchen Garden - Original Painting

from CA$2,000.00

The Prairies & Lakes Series Collection: “Farmer Day’s Kitchen Garden"

“Farmer Day’s Kitchen Garden” captures the kitchen Garden of Farmer Day at Jackfish Lake, in northern Saskatchewan.

Day’s Beach is the neighbouring beach of the family cabin. There is a nice walking path that cuts through a pair of fields connect the two. The backroad of Day’s Beach is surrounded by glorious lush greenery and fields. It is perfectly tranquil, has beautiful morning light, and the chance to see some illusive snowshoe hares.

This painting depicts Farmer Day’s kitchen garden at the height of summer in the bright early morning, where he is growing corn and potatoes. And celebrates the memories of relishing the taste of homegrown vegetables.

I hope that this garden catches your eye and entices you to add it to your collection.

Created as a part of the Prairies & Lakes Series. Learn more about this series, its inspiration, and sentiments that rooted my process, HERE.

This piece makes a wonderful diptych when paired with my “The Tornado Cloud Has Passed” painting, which I worked on simultaneously with “Farmer Day’s Kitchen Garden”. Together they sing and balance each other.

You can collect “The Tornado Cloud Has Passed” HERE.

A watercolour painting, 2020. Watercolour and gouache on cold press watercolour paper, in an elegant white frame and mat. 17’’ x 21’’.
